Case

A quotation from a specification

A quotation is put together in a minute, with current prices.

Before 20–30 minbuilding the specification in Excel
After ≈ 1 mina finished PDF at today's prices

≈ the owner's estimate from his own experience

Before

The sales manager built the quotation in Excel: copied items from the price list, checked prices and the exchange rate, formatted it, pasted the logo, saved it as a PDF. Twenty to thirty minutes each, and every one looked slightly different.

What I built

  • The specification is picked in the system from the price list, with current prices and exchange rates.
  • An HTML template in the company's style is rendered to PDF.
  • Terms, deadlines and legal details are filled in automatically; the manager only picks the items and presses the button.

After

A finished PDF in a minute. Every quotation looks the same, and the prices in them are never out of date.

What it gave

The manager answers the client straight away, while they are still deciding, instead of the next day. Twenty minutes per quotation adds up to hours a week across a sales department.

For your company

The letterhead, the terms, the deadlines and the pricing rule are yours: a quotation should look like your company, not like mine. The input can differ too: a specification, a cart in the partner portal, a past order, or a list the client sent over. The output is a PDF, an email or a link — whichever suits your clients.
